for good business

It's no secret that most people go into business for themselves because they want to make a lot of money. It's true that small business ownership is one of the most common and time-tested routes to earning a great living in this country, but it's worth pointing out that the type of business you start plays a large role in your ultimate ability to generate wealth. A general contracting business is one kind of venture that tends to be very profitable if operated wisely.

One advantage to becoming a general contractor is that your pool of potential customers is much larger than it is for a more specialized, niche-based service. There are only so many homeowners in your community that will require new windows in any given year, but add to that number the people who are looking for a new roof, new siding, new doors, or a new kitchen, and you're looking at a much wider array of potential new jobs. By starting a general contracting business you can address all of these home improvement needs for people in your community, and your potential to grow faster and make a lot of money is much greater.

Another benefit of owning a general contracting service is that it lowers your marketing costs, relatively speaking. A specialist contractor must spend great amounts of time and money on advertising because most potential customers in his city will not have heard of him and his ability to get repeat work will be greatly compromised. After all, how often will an individual require the services of a contractor who only builds decks, or only refinishes bathtubs, or only installs ceramic tile? The answer is hardly ever. Compare this with a general contractor who can do all these things and more. Odds are good that he'll have clients who consistently come back to him for all their home improvement projects, so the cost of acquisition for each of these subsequent jobs is literally zero! In addition, these repeat customers are more likely to spread the word about your business because you are fresh on their minds and because you can solve a home-related problem of one kind or another for almost everyone they know. Less money spent on marketing is more money that can be spent on expansion and a quicker road to massive profits.

Finally, becoming a general contractor is quite often a very lucrative move because it allows you to provide services that the vast majority of the population simply cannot or will not do on their own. When homeowners or consumers are limited in what they can pull off due to a lack of tools or expertise it creates a sense of scarcity which will always work in a contractor's favor. Similarly, most people have absolutely no desire to paint their whole house or finish their basement, preferring instead to make whatever financial sacrifices are necessary to hire the work out to a qualified professional. It's one of those industries that will always be in high demand, so setting yourself up as a general contractor virtually guarantees that you'll be in business for as long as you wish to be and will have ample opportunities to grow and expand. With growth and expansion comes the ability to make scary amounts of money if you're the guy in charge and have some management skills.

One-On-One

Many organizations are faced with the dilemma of having a Key Person involved in a harassment or diversity-related situation. Perhaps a complaint has been filed, or the organization has just become aware of some seemingly inappropriate behavior.

When the person involved is an executive, a highly-skilled manager, or a high-producing sales person, addressing the situation requires a specialized approach. This Key Person may be too valuable to terminate, or the behavior they engaged in mild enough that some response other than termination is appropriate.

When your organization makes the cost/benefit calculation to retain this Key Person, DB Pargman has the best program available to correct the problematic behavior and protect your company from future liability.

DB Pargman was the first to advertise this unique service and remains the nation’s leading provider of One-on-One Sensitivity Coaching. Program success stems from providing the Key Person with a proven process and appropriate forum to gain uderstanding of their behavior, and related personal and professional consequences. Invariably, participants emerge from the session ready to return to the workplace focused on applying what they have learned.

Organizations tell us the combination of skill-building and processing is exactly what their Key Person needed during this challenging time. Coaching clients report outstanding value received for themselves and their organization. See our as documentation of the program's success.

When a Key Person has been involved in a harassment or diversity issue, group training may not be the advisable or most effective response– they need something tailored to their unique situation, and the company’s desire to get them back to work.

Our program demonstrates your commitment to taking PROMPT CORRECTIVE ACTION which federal, state, and local courts have linked to a reduction in the ability of plaintiffs to recover damages. At the same time, it reiterates your continued commitment to your Key Person and their professional development.

A business (also called a firm or an enterprise) is a legally recognized organization designed to provide goods and/or services to consumers.[1] Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies, most being privately owned and formed to earn profit that will increase the wealth of its owners and grow the business itself. The owners and operators of a business have as one of their main objectives the receipt or generation of a financial return in exchange for work and acceptance of risk. Notable exceptions include cooperative businesses and state-owned enterprises. Socialist systems involve either government agencies, public, or worker ownership of most sizable businesses.
The etymology of "business" relates to the state of being busy either as an individual or society as a whole, doing commercially viable and profitable work. The term "business" has at least three usages, depending on the scope — the singular usage (above) to mean a particular company or corporation, the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, such as "the music business" and compound forms such as agribusiness, or the broadest meaning to include all activity by the community of suppliers of goods and services. However, the exact definition of business, like much else in the philosophy of business, is a matter of debate.
Business Studies, the study of the management of individuals to maintain collective productivity to accomplish particular creative and productive goals (usually to generate profit), is taught as an academic subject in many schools.

[edit] Basic forms of ownership
Although forms of business ownership vary by jurisdiction, there are several common forms:
Sole proprietorship: A sole proprietorship is a business owned by one person. The owner may operate on his or her own or may employ others. The owner of the business has total and unlimited personal liability of the debts incurred by the business.
Partnership: A partnership is a form of business in which two or more people operate for the common goal of making profit. Each partner has total and unlimited personal liability of the debts incurred by the partnership. There are three typical classifications of partnerships: general partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability partnerships.
Corporation: A business corporation is a for-profit, limited liability entity that has a separate legal personality from its members. A corporation is owned by multiple shareholders and is overseen by a board of directors, which hires the business's managerial staff.
Cooperative: Often referred to as a "co-op business" or "co-op", a cooperative is a for-profit, limited liability entity that differs from a corporation in that it has members, as opposed to shareholders, who share decision-making authority. Cooperatives are typically classified as either consumer cooperatives or worker cooperatives. Cooperatives are fundamental to the ideology of economic democracy.

Writers - Turn Waste Into Treasure & You'll Be Well Paid

Recently, a number of blogs have fixated on the subject of compensating writers for their work products.

Some people argue that pay and performance should go hand in hand. If you are a true pro, you'll receive money for your ministrations, wampum for your writing.

Others retort that breaking into print, being published anywhere, is a form of payment. Especially for new writers, submitting work for exposure is a fair exchange, they contend.

I believe compensation isn't always given to us, but often has to be created, by us.

For example, this morning I received a very polite email inquiry that asked me to define "customer satisfaction." My initial impulse was to steer this person to one of my books that deals with this topic.
But then, I sensed there was an opportunity to say something new, and I wrote an article titled, "Seven Essential Elements of Customer Satisfaction." I sent the initial draft to the inquirer.

But just as quickly, I polished it here and there and submitted it to an ezine, where I have posted over 1,500 original articles. There, and through search engines, it will become a beacon to those that are seeking training and consulting in customer satisfaction, one of my expert areas.
Without taking the extra steps: (1) To perceive the greater in the lesser, to appreciate that a fresh article begged to be written; and (2) To go ahead and to write it and quickly post it; I could have "awfulized" and been immobilized by the emailer's request for information without compensation.

But, to borrow a Zen suggestion, I transformed waste into treasure.
You can, too.

One more thing: By redefining customer satisfaction this morning I reinvigorated that topic, rekindling my interest in consulting in that area.
If the worst bankrupt in the world is he that has lost enthusiasm, what would we call one who has had it restored?

If not rich, then at least we'd say he's well paid!

Authors - Earn $99,000 From Your First and Every Book - Guaranteed

There are many ways to to make money from your book, besides just selling it as a stand-alone, and that's what this article will teach. To begin with we need to look at some basic math, lets begin with the cost of each copy.

If your book sells for $20.00 and you have $15.95 in expenses like you would if you self published. Than you would earn $4.05 per copy right? Well lets take a closer look, what if you sold an Audio CD with someone reading the story, as a package deal. Many people like to listen to audios while driving, or on their computer etc. So that's a nice feature right?

OK that improves the math a bit right because we could sell the package for maybe $25.00. Now the life expectancy of a self published product is between 150 - 200 copies, now lets do the math. $4.05 X 200 copies = $810 dollars

Far from $99,000 dollars right? Well what do we have to do to get that book up to where it can become highly profitable? We need to add to our package deal, but first let me ask you a question.
- What could you offer to support the learning or entertainment of your story?
If your book is teaching someone to improve their business bookkeeping than you could add services and products to your offering. Lets say that you created a basic and advanced package which offered more details and additional support in varying ways.

This is an example of what you could include in such a package;
- Book, audio CD, workbook (filled with questions and spaces for answers) and 1 hour of private 1-on-1 phone coaching. Valued at $97.00
- Book, audio CD, workbook (filled with questions and spaces for answers) 3 monthly group tele-seminars for additional support and 1 hour of private 1-on-1 phone coaching. Valued at $495.00

Now each package can help people with varying levels of support, and at varying price points. The $97 dollar package, if with 200 sales would earn $19,400 and the $495 package would earn you $99,000 dollars. Not bad, right?
